- Holiday Pay is not included in the your hourly rate and you accrue Holiday Pay in line with the with the Government’s Working Time Regulations.
You will be notified at the commencement of a temporary assignment If Holiday Pay is included in your hourly pay rate
OPTION 2
Temporary workers are entitled to 20 days paid annual leave during the leave year running from November 1st to October 31st. Howard James Recruitmnt Limited can only pay you for time that you actually take off work as the scheme was designed to encourage people to take holidays.
Accrual of paid holiday is continuous throughout the year. Whilst in ongoing employment, this works out as 1 days’ holiday accrued approximately every 12.5 working days. Hence, after 12 months’ continuous service, temporary workers will have accrued their full 20-day entitlement.
Temporary workers can claim the holidays due to them at any time during the year via a Holiday Request form available from the Downloads section of this site.
Notice must be given in good time, at least twice as long as the period of leave to be taken. It is very important that you let your Consultant know if you are planning to take leave. Any holiday entitlement due from Howard James Limited will be paid out in the week after the holiday has been taken.
Under the regulations, you may not carry holiday pay forward from one leave year to the next, therefore any holiday pay due must be taken in the leave year in which it was accrued.
Bank and Public Holidays will be taken as holiday and will come out of your 20-day entitlement. In this instance, you have to request holiday pay if you have accrued the necessary days at that point.
Requested holiday pay is worked out as an average of gross basic earnings over the prior 12 week period.
To request Holiday Pay you need to complete a Holiday Request Form
