Good Friday… But the Phone Still Rings

offee in hand, feet up, telling myself I’ll properly switch off.

Then the phone goes.

A candidate I’ve been working with all week. “Just wanted to check in…”

And that’s it. You’re back in.

Not fully. Not sat at a desk. But mentally, you’re there.

Because recruitment doesn’t really pause. People are still thinking about moves. Offers are still being weighed up. Decisions are still being made.

And timing matters.

So you take the call. Keep it light. Keep it helpful.

No hard sell. Just staying present.

Because sometimes, it’s these moments, the ones outside the typical 9 to 5, that build the most trust.

You might be off the clock.

But you’re never completely switched off.

And if I’m honest… I wouldn’t have it any other way.
