Masters Momentum & Grand National Picks: A Big Day Ahead
Saturday 11th April. And it’s shaping up to be a big one.
The Masters
Rory heading into the weekend at The Masters with a six-shot lead.
That’s serious control.
In golf, like recruitment, momentum is everything. When you’re ahead, confident, and in rhythm… things just flow. Decisions feel easier. Execution sharpens. You’re not chasing, you’re managing.
But as anyone who’s watched The Masters knows, nothing’s done until it’s done.
Pressure builds. Gaps close. And suddenly, it’s a different game.
Not too dissimilar to offers in recruitment.
You think it’s over the line… until it isn’t.
Then we’ve got the Grand National.
Completely different kind of test. Less control, more unpredictability.
And that’s where it gets interesting.
I’ve gone for Gorgeous Tom each way.
Why?
He’s the type of horse that suits this race. Stays well, handles the trip, and crucially, jumps cleanly. In a race like the National, that counts for more than outright speed.
He’s not the headline favourite, but that’s often where the value is.
Solid profile. Consistent form. And looks like the kind that could keep going when others start to fade.
Exactly what you want for an each-way shout.
So today’s about two things.
Momentum at Augusta.
And survival at Aintree.
Very different… but both come down to keeping your nerve when it matters.
Let’s see how it plays out.
