Howard James Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrator to join a busy team in Warrington. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised finance professional to manage day-to-day financial operations and contribute to smooth administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile all accounting records using Sage.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements, manage cash flow, and produce reports.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations including VAT and PAYE.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Support membership billing, credit control, and other financial tasks.
  • Provide general administrative support, manage diaries, bookings, and communications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience with an AAT or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in Sage accounting software and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in hospitality or club administration desirable but not essential.
