Bookkeeper / Administrator

Howard James Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrator to join a busy team in Warrington. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised finance professional to manage day-to-day financial operations and contribute to smooth administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile all accounting records using Sage.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements, manage cash flow, and produce reports.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations including VAT and PAYE.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Support membership billing, credit control, and other financial tasks.
- Provide general administrative support, manage diaries, bookings, and communications.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience with an AAT or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Professional attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in hospitality or club administration desirable but not essential.
