A Birthday Off, Golf at Trentham & Switching Off Properly

Yesterday was a bit different.

It was my birthday, and the team kindly gave me the day off. So instead of CVs, calls, and chasing feedback, I spent the day playing golf at Trentham Golf Club with the lads from Mere GC.

And honestly… days like that matter.

Recruitment can be full on. There’s always another email to answer, another role to fill, another deal to move forward.

So getting the chance to properly switch off for a day, enjoy some golf, fresh air, and good company was exactly what was needed.

Now, I won’t pretend every shot was straight… but that’s golf.

Very similar to recruitment really. Some days everything clicks. Other days you’re recovering from a bad decision three shots later.

But that’s part of the fun.
