Client Account Manager

Howard James Recruitment is acting on behalf of our client, a commercial banking organisation, to appoint a Client Account Manager. This role will manage an established portfolio of client relationships while providing transaction and administrative support to Relationship Managers and Senior Relationship Managers.

The Role

You will act as a key point of contact for clients, supporting onboarding, documentation, compliance queries and account administration. The role combines relationship management with accurate, timely coordination across internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage client queries, documentation requests and escalations within remit.
• Support customer due diligence and KYC activity for new and existing clients.
• Coordinate onboarding documentation and keep clients and Relationship Managers updated on progress.
• Maintain regular contact with clients, building professional and trusted relationships by telephone and email.
• Provide cover and day-to-day support for Relationship Managers when required.
• Support account closure activity, including liaison with internal teams and obtaining relevant approvals.
• Manage clients without active lending facilities and respond to client requests promptly and professionally.
• Assist with ad hoc enquiries, reporting and internal documentation.
• Explain relevant banking solutions to existing and prospective clients.

About You

• Educated to degree level.
• Experience in banking customer service, operations or a back-office environment.
• Experience handling customer and compliance-related queries.
• Strong relationship-building and professional communication skills.
• Excellent telephone and written communication skills.
• Highly organised, self-sufficient and able to prioritise a varied workload.
• A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
