Experienced Estimator

Experienced Estimator | £35,000-£45,000 | Croydon Howard James Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Experienced Estimator on behalf of a leading organisation in the highways and infrastructure sector. This well-established and growing business delivers highway maintenance, road marking, surfacing and infrastructure projects across the South of England. Working within a collaborative Commercial Team, you will prepare accurate and competitive estimates, support tender submissions and contribute to projects covering road marking, high friction surfacing, road studs, airfield markings and associated highway maintenance works. You will review drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and client requirements; obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations; prepare cost models; identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities; and support contract handovers, pricing variations and compensation events. Previous estimating experience in highways, civil engineering, road marking or a related construction environment is preferred, along with strong commercial awareness, technical drawing interpretation, Excel and IT skills, excellent communication and organisation, and a full UK Driving Licence.
